Board Members

Our Board of Directors comprises of ten members, six employees from Craigs Investment Partners and four employees from Deutsche Bank, our strategic alliance partner. The Board is responsible for the strategic direction of the Company and ensuring we are properly managed to protect and enhance shareholders’ interests.

Frank Aldridge

Managing Director Moreless

After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Studies with a double major in Economics and International Business, Frank joined the New Zealand Stock Exchange in 1995.

Frank then joined Craigs Investment Partners in August 1997. Initially Frank joined as a research analyst then held a number of positions within the firm, including client adviser, corporate adviser and Head of Client Services before his appointment as CEO in October 2005.

Frank, now Managing Director, is an NZX Adviser and a Director on the Board at Craigs Investment Partners. He is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.

Neil Craig

Neil graduated from Lincoln University with a B.Ag Com (Economics). He founded Craig & Co. Ltd in 1984 and through a series of acquisitions, he built the Company into a retail broking business with a national presence. Craigs Investment Partners now has 16 branch offices throughout New Zealand and Neil retains the role of Chair.

Neil is also Chair of NZX-listed Comvita Limited and Chair of the Tauranga based angel investment group, Enterprise Angels Inc. He is also a Director of Pohutukawa Private Equity Limited, AGInvest Holdings Limited, NZ Cricket, and a number of private, largely horticulture based and early stage companies. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Mike Caird

Mike joined Craigs Investment Partners in March 2009. Prior to that he was with ABN AMRO for 12 years, Brierley Investments Limited for 10 years and Ernst Young for 4 years.

Mike has been a director of Craigs Investment Partners since 2001, and is currently chairman of the Audit & Risk, Underwriting, Remuneration, Due Diligence and DIMS Oversight committees.

Mike has been involved in New Zealand capital markets for over 20 years and has led teams responsible for some of the largest and most innovative bank and capital markets financings in the New Zealand market in recent years.

In addition to Quaystreet Asset Management Limited, Mike is also a director of the New Zealand Social Infrastructure Fund Limited, Pohutakawa Private Equity Limited and Pohutakawa Private Equity II Limited and Wilson HTM Limited representing Craigs Investment Partners. Mike is a director of a number of private companies in the glass services industries, indoor plant hire and social media monitoring industries.

William Stevens

After a career as a Lieutenant Commander in the Royal New Zealand Navy, William has been in investment advisory work for over 20 years.

He joined Hendry Hay McIntosh in 1986 and was a Director there for 5 years until 1996, when it was acquired by Merrill Lynch (New Zealand).

William is currently on the Board of the Financial Markets Authority. He was also a Director of Merrill Lynch (New Zealand) for 5 years until Craigs Investment Partners acquired part of that firm in 2001. He is now an Investment Adviser with Craigs Investment Partners in Auckland.

Nigel Scott

Nigel Scott joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2001 and became a Director in 2011.

Nigel's whole career has been in various broking roles from starting in 1983 as a trading floor operator through to Head Of Institutional sales with BZW/ABN AMRO 1988-2001. In 1987 he became an NZX Member.

Nigel has worked alongside Simon Coulter since 2005 and specialises in the area of Private Wealth Management. He advises private clients, KiwiSaver options, estates, charitable, community and private trusts and institutional clients on asset allocation, fixed income investments and equity strategy.

Working alongside Simon Coulter has bought a team approach to managing client portfolios which is critical to providing a complete tailored solution for clients.

Deidre Copley

Head of Fixed Income

Deidre has over twenty five years’ experience in financial markets. Since 2000, when Deidre joined Craigs Investment Partners, she has been responsible for fixed income, including product research and management of the fixed income dealing desk, as well as certain CIP Cash Management Nominees functions.

Deidre's first role within the industry was as an equity analyst in the funds management industry in the 1980s, moving into bank treasury roles prior to specialising in the origination and distribution of fixed income securities to the institutional investor market.

Deidre is an Authorised Financial Adviser and member of the company's Investment Committee. In addition she is a Member of both the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc. and the Institute of Directors.

Brett Shepherd

CEO Deutsche Craigs Moreless

Brett is the Head of the Deutsche Craigs Investment Banking Team, following a 16 year career in Deutsche Bank New Zealand.

Brett has led or advised on some of the largest M&A activity in New Zealand, including the formation of Fonterra, the block trade of 43.7% in Sky Network Television, the 50% acquisition of Contact Energy by Origin Energy and the sale of National Bank of New Zealand Limited to ANZ Banking Group Limited.

Brett has been a prominent figure in the investment banking industry for more than twenty years and was named Outstanding Maori Business Leader in 2007.

John Macfarlane

John is the former Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Bank Australia and New Zealand.

John is originally from Christchurch but is now resident in Melbourne following a 26 year career with Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank in New Zealand, Australia, the USA and Asia.

John is Chairman of AGInvest Holdings Limited, a Non-Executive Director of ANZ Banking Group and a Director of a number of private investment groups.

John has a Master of Commerce degree from Canterbury University.

John Cincotta

Group Chief Operating Officer, Deutsche Bank Australia and New Zealand Moreless

John Cincotta is the Group Chief Operating Officer ("COO") of the Deutsche Bank Group Australia and New Zealand.

John joined the Bank in 1993 in the Finance Division and in 1999 moved to Global Markets. In 2003 he became the Group COO in addition to his responsibilities as Market Debt COO. In 2005 he expanded his Global Markets Debt responsibilities to include Equities. In 2010 John's role was further expanded to include the entire Corporate Banking and Securities business. In 2015 he was also appointed as the designated Chief Risk Officer of the Bank. 

As COO, John works closely across all aspects of the business and infrastructure areas. In partnership with the CEO, Head of Markets and Senior Business Heads his major focus is on strategy, business performance, risk management and regulatory matters. From an infrastructure perspective he is responsible for internal operations of the group across all disciplines and is a Director on all of the Bank's major operating entities.

John chairs the Group Operating and Risk Committees and is Deputy Chair of the Group Executive Committee. John joined the newly formed Wilson HTM Board in July 2015.

John has a Bachelor of Business from Western Sydney University and is a qualified CPA.


Glenn Morgan

Managing Director, Head of Equities Moreless

Glenn Morgan is currently Managing Director & Head of Equities for Australia with responsibility for Deutsche Bank’s equity sales and trading business. 

Glenn joined Deutsche Bank in 2009 as the Head of Australian Research Sales. Prior to joining Deutsche, Glenn was an executive director at JPMorgan from 2003 to 2009, where he ran the Sydney equity sales desk for the last two years of his tenure. Prior to JPMorgan, Glenn worked at Commonwealth Bank, initially within equity capital markets and subsequently building and running the Bank’s top-ranking Hybrid Security Team.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from Monash University.

James Roth

Managing Director, Co-Head Corporate Finance – Australia & New Zealand Moreless

James has more than 20 years’ experience in investment banking and has previously worked in Asia for more than 13 years. He is currently Co-Head of Corporate Finance in Australia & New Zealand, having previously held senior roles in Asia; including Head of General Industrials, Consumer and Healthcare; and Head of Telecom, Media and Technology

James also has extensive M&A advisory experience, advising both domestic and international clients on key high profile schemes of arrangement, demergers, acquisitions and trade sales.  James has significant capital raising experience and has personally led more than 30 equity deals raising over US$20bn for Asian clients 

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, James was a Senior Managing Director at UBS in Asia where he worked for over 10 years. James holds a Bachelor of Commerce NSW university and is on a number of Deutsche Bank ANZ Committees including Deutsche Bank AG & New Zealand,
db GO (Diversity Initiative) Steering Committee. 

James is the Director of Finance at Biennale of Sydney Limited.
