The Craigs Investment Partners (“CIP”) Investment Banking team advises corporate, institutional and Government clients on capital raising and advisory transactions, utilising their team of highly experienced individuals. The company has the largest distribution network in New Zealand and is focused on building long-term strategic partnerships and generating shareholder value through advising public and private mid-cap to large corporates, institutions, and Government bodies in New Zealand and offshore.

CIP’s Investment Banking team and Deutsche Bank’s New Zealand corporate finance team work together, using CIP’s established strength in distribution and New Zealand capital markets advisory and Deutsche Bank’s leading advisory and global capital markets businesses, to provide clients an enhanced service and product offering.

The CIP Investment Banking Division has two dedicated teams: Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) and Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”).

In addition to undertaking ECM assignments (such as IPOs and other equity capital raisings), the ECM team also undertakes Mergers & Acquisitions (“M&A”) advisory assignments on a highly selective basis where CIP can add value through its client relationships.

The ECM team leverages the unrivalled strength of CIP’s nationwide distribution platform and local research coverage to service their corporate clients.

CIP has recently lead managed the IPO of the NZ Social Infrastructure Fund, the Pohutukawa Private Equity No 2 Fund and co-managed the IPO of Ecoya Limited as well as lead managing block trades in PGG Wrightson, EBOS and Skellerup. The team has also recently advised NZ Farming Systems Uruguay on the takeover offers it has received from Olam International and others.

The DCM team has a long-established reputation for innovation and quality execution. They hold a market leading position in New Zealand, with lead roles in 2010 for The Warehouse and in 2009 for senior and hybrid issues by NZ Post, Contact Energy, AMP, Kiwi Income Property Trust, Goodman Property Trust and TrustPower Limited.
