Frank Aldridge

Originally from Hawke’s Bay, Frank completed a Bachelor of Business Studies degree at Massey University with a double major in economics and international business.

Frank joined Craigs Investment Partners in August 1997 from the New Zealand Stock Exchange. Initially Frank joined as a research analyst then held a number of positions within the firm, including client adviser, corporate adviser and Head of Client Services before his appointment as CEO in October 2005.

Frank, now Managing Director, is an NZX Adviser and a Director on the Board at Craigs Investment Partners.

Neil Craig

Neil graduated from Lincoln University with a B.Ag Com (Economics). He founded Craig & Co. Ltd in 1984 and through a series of acquisitions, he built the Company into a retail broking business with a national presence. Craigs Investment Partners now has 17 branch offices throughout New Zealand and Neil retains the role of Chair.

Neil is also Chair of NZX-listed Comvita Limited and Chair of the Tauranga based angel investment group, Enterprise Angels Inc. He is also a Director of Pohutukawa Private Equity Limited, NZ Social Infrastructure Fund, AGInvest Holdings Limited, NZ Cricket, and a number of private, largely horticulture based and early stage companies. He is a member of the Institute of Directors.

Ken Phillip

After graduating with tertiary qualifications in Accounting and Finance, Ken held a number of roles in the dairy and related industries based in the Waikato.

Ken joined Craig & Co. in May 1996 as the Financial Accountant and now has responsibilities for the operations of Craigs Investment Partners comprising Accounting and Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, and all administrative functions, including the company secretarial role.

Ken is a director of a number of subsidiary and associate companies of Craigs Investment Partners.

Deidre Copley

Head of Fixed Income Moreless

Disclosure Statement

Deidre has over twenty five years’ experience in financial markets. Since 2000, when Deidre joined Craigs Investment Partners, she has been responsible for fixed income, including product research and management of the fixed income dealing desk, as well as certain CIP Cash Management Nominees functions.

Deidre's first role within the industry was as an equity analyst in the funds management industry in the 1980s, moving into bank treasury roles prior to specialising in the origination and distribution of fixed income securities to the institutional investor market.

Deidre is an Authorised Financial Adviser and member of the company's Investment Committee. In addition she is a Member of both the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc. and the Institute of Directors.

James Beale

James is Head of Investment Management, with responsibility for Private Wealth Research, Investment Management and retail equities dealing.

James is an NZX Adviser, is Chairman of the CIP Investment Committee and is a member of the Pohutukawa Private Equity Investment Committee.

James joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2001 and has experience in research, as a listed property analyst, and investment banking. In his role as Head of Equity Capital Markets from 2005 to 2008, James managed many successful IPO’s, listings and capital raisings in the New Zealand market. From 2009 to July 2011, James was responsible for the national advisory network of Craigs. Prior to joining Craigs Investment Partners, James had six years experience in the funds management industry.

Mike Caird

Mike joined Craigs Investment Partners in March 2009. Prior to that he was with ABN AMRO for 12 years, Brierley Investments Limited for 10 years and Ernst Young for 4 years.

Mike has been a director of Craigs Investment Partners since 2001.

Mike has been involved in New Zealand capital markets for over 20 years and has led teams responsible for some of the largest and most innovative bank and capital markets financings in the New Zealand market in recent years.

Mike is also a director of the New Zealand Social Infrastructure Fund Limited, representing Craigs Investment Partners.

David Sawtell

Disclosure Statement

David joined Craigs Investment Partners as the Auckland Regional Manager in April 2004. Prior to this he worked for 15 years at Lehman Brothers in London in a number of different roles that included Private Client Services, Prime Broker Operations, Business Analysis and Investment Banking planning and technology.

David also has previous work experience in Chemistry having worked for CSR Chemicals in Sydney, NZIG Gases and DSIR.

Brett Shepherd

Brett heads the newly formed Deutsche Craigs Investment Banking Team in October 2013 as the Chief Executive Officer following a 16 year career in Deutsche Bank New Zealand.

Brett has led or advised on some of the largest M&A activity in New Zealand, including the formation of Fonterra, the block trade of 43.7% in Sky Network Television, the 50% acquisition of Contract Energy by Origin Energy and the sale of National Bank of New Zealand Limited to ANZ Banking Group Limited.

Brett has been a prominent figure in the investment banking industry for more than twenty years and was named Outstanding Maori Business Leader in 2007.

Stephen Jonas

Stephen joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2005 as Head of START and became Head of Client Services in early 2007. He is responsible for the suite of products and services offered through the Craigs Investment Partners network.

Stephen graduated from Auckland University in 1986 with a Master of Commerce and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry and has worked in New Zealand, American and European organisations in a variety of management roles.

Geoff joined Craigs Investment Partners in April 2009 as Head of Equity Research and was appointed Head of Institutional Equities in December 2010. Geoff's current focus at Craigs Investment Partners is on the telecommunications, transport and media sectors. Geoff was awarded “Analyst of the Year” at the National Business Review 2011 INFINZ Industry Awards. 

Prior to joining Craigs Investment Partners, Geoff was an Equity Research Analyst with ABN AMRO since July 2007. He spent the previous six years with Telecom Corporation NZ, the majority of this time as Investor Relations Manager and latterly as Finance Manager for Telecom's Business Retail division. Geoff's previous work experience included five years based in London as Finance Manager for Cater Allen (a wholesale money broker, subsidiary of Abbey National), and prior to that with Deloitte & Touche in Wellington, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1997.

Geoff holds a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting and economics) from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.

Regan Carey

Regan joined ABN AMRO Bank NV in London in 2001 as Head of Trade Surveillance in a compliance role responsible for monitoring market manipulation and insider trading, before moving to Hong Kong to oversee the compliance for ABN AMRO’s research department.

Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Regan contracted in various compliance roles in London with Lehman Brothers, Panmure Gordon & Co and West LB.

In July 2005 Regan moved back to New Zealand and took up the role of Compliance Manager with Craigs Investment Partners where he is responsible for ensuring the firm complies with NZX Regulations, legislation and global best practices.

Kim Martin

Marketing Manager Moreless

Originally from Hawke’s Bay, Kim graduated from the University of Otago in 1998, and joined Mars Inc (Masterfoods NZ) as a graduate in January 1999. Kim developed sales and marketing experience to a senior level, and enjoyed roles across various markets including Australia, United Kingdom and Europe.

Kim then joined Bluebird Foods as Marketing Manager in 2005 before shifting to Tauranga and joining Craigs Investment Partners in March 2007. As Marketing Manager, Kim is responsible for all aspects of brand and communications.

Susan Boyle

Human Resources Manager Moreless

Susan joined Craigs Investment Partners as HR Manager in August 2010. Susan’s HR career has included working in the manufacturing, hospitality, and research industries. In her role, Susan is responsible for all HR issues including recruitment, remuneration and rewards, performance management and staff training. She has experience in strategic and operational HR and enjoys working with management and staff on employment related matters.

Susan has a Masters in Business Studies from Massey University, and a First Class Honours degree in Psychology from Victoria University in Wellington.

Stuart Prendergast

Stuart joined Craigs Investment Partners in 2012 as Head of Information and Communications Technology and is responsible for leading technology strategy and operations. Prior to joining Craigs Investment Partners, Stuart has held various senior roles as Technology Strategy Advisor for Fonterra, Chief Information Officer for the Wise Group in the health sector and Chief Executive Officer for software company Wild bamboo across New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Most recently Stuart was the Executive Technology Lead for Livestock Improvement Corporation based in the Waikato before moving to Tauranga.
